There will be other exclusive events as well, such as personality testing to help you find your strengths and chances to network with professionals and possible mentors.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Honors Program, incoming first-year students must have at least a 3.5 GPA in high school. After you are admitted to Lawrence Tech, you can fill out the Honors Application.
The application will ask you for a 500-750 words essay addressing:
- What curricular and extracurricular experiences have prepared you to participate in the Honors Program?
- What personal qualities make you a strong candidate for the Honors Program?
- What are your expectations of the Honors Program and how do you plan to support the program?
Maintaining Your Honors Status
You must achieve a grade of B or higher in all Honors courses. Only one grade of B- or lower can be replaced by enrolling in a subsequent Honors course in the same discipline. In addition, all Honors Program students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. In extenuating circumstances, the Director of the Honors Program may approve a limited number of curricular substitutions.
